Support for Ridvan & his young family fighting cancer & financial crisis
Dear Community, Dear Supporters,
We are reaching out to you today during one of the most difficult chapters of our lives. As a young family with an 11-month-old daughter, we are currently facing ruins—both health-wise and existentially.
Since January 2025, I (the father) have been battling a severe form of Cancer. Following multiple major surgeries, oncological treatments, and an ongoing inability to work, I have now also lost my job as of the end of June 2026. Unfortunately, the bureaucratic mills of the IV (Invalidity Insurance) grind very slowly, and we have been waiting in vain for an official decision since March 2025.
To make matters worse, my wife suffers from epilepsy, which turns our daily routine and caring for our little daughter into an even greater challenge. We are at the end of our physical, psychological, and unfortunately, financial strength. The current daily sickness benefit payments (Krankentaggeld) are barely enough to cover the high fixed costs in Switzerland, medical co-payments, and our baby’s essential needs.
We are raising these funds to bridge the financial gaps of the coming months (rent, health insurance, baby supplies) until the IV payments and pension fund benefits finally start flowing officially.
Every single Cent/donation helps us maintain a sense of security for our 11-month-old daughter and allows us to focus entirely on recovery and our family.
From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you for every donation, every share of this post, and your emotional support.
Warm regards,
Ridvan, Sarina & Inayah Safiya
