Sometimes, a single moment changes an entire life.
Melanie is the mother of two little girls. Her older daughter is three years old, and her youngest was just six weeks old when her husband unexpectedly suffered a severe brain bleed. He survived and has been taking small steps forward in rehabilitation ever since. Progress is slow, the road ahead is long, and the future remains uncertain.
As a family, we are doing everything we can to support Melanie and her girls. We temporarily moved in with them to help with everyday life. But what started as short-term support is increasingly becoming a longer-term arrangement.
Melanie will soon be returning to work, and visiting her husband at the rehabilitation centre, which is far from home, also takes a great deal of time. To ensure that her girls continue to receive loving and reliable care, a family member will be moving in with them for the longer term.
To make this possible, we need to create space. There is enough room in the house, but some rooms need to be rearranged, renovated and furnished. Melanie still needs a space where she can work, and everyone involved needs a little privacy and room to recharge.
Together with friends, our family is doing as much of the work as possible ourselves. However, the renovations, necessary professional work and new furniture come with additional costs.
At a time when everyday expenses are already high and the family's financial future is uncertain, these extra costs are a significant burden.
That is why we are asking for your support. Your donation will help us prepare the living spaces needed to make this new arrangement possible.
Because this is about so much more than renovating a home. It is about creating a place of love, comfort and a sense of normality during a time filled with worry and uncertainty.
Every contribution makes a difference, no matter how big or small. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for helping us give this young family a little more stability, comfort and security.
