My name is K H Kaushalya and I am a father of two young children who mean the world to me. Life was once steady—I worked as a sales representative, providing for my family and building our future with hard work and pride. But everything changed in an instant.
I was involved in a serious car accident that resulted in the loss of part of my right hand, above the wrist. In addition to this life-altering injury, I sustained damage to my leg that makes it painful and difficult to stay in one position for long periods of time. Because of these challenges, I lost my job, and since then, I have struggled to find stable work that can accommodate my condition.
Despite the physical pain and emotional toll, I have tried many different jobs to support my children. But time and again, I’ve had to give them up because of the discomfort and limitations caused by my disability. I currently live in a rented house and often depend on friends to help me cover the rent, utilities, and basic expenses. It’s heartbreaking to have to ask for help just to keep the lights on and to keep my children in school.
There have been times when I’ve had to move from one house to another because I couldn’t afford the rent. Each move brings more stress, especially for my children, who deserve stability, safety, and peace of mind. They are both of school age now, and my greatest wish is to provide them with a secure home and a better future.
Even with a small income from occasional work, it is barely enough to cover food, rent, school expenses, and bills. But I have not lost hope. I own a small piece of land, and I dream of using it to start a business—something that can support my family and give us a fresh start. I also hope to build a modest home on that land so my children can finally have a permanent place to call home.
I am reaching out not with a hand of pity, but with a heart full of hope. I believe that with a little help, I can turn this difficult chapter into a new beginning—not just for myself, but for my children.
