Hello,
My name is Nirantha, and I am a small business owner from Gampola, Sri Lanka.
Recently, Sri Lanka experienced severe flooding that affected many regions across the country, destroying properties, livelihoods, and tragically, costing lives. Like many others, my family and I were deeply impacted by this disaster.
I run a modest stationery and printing shop, which has been my family’s only source of income for many years. During the floods, my shop was badly damaged. Floodwater destroyed most of the essential items needed to operate the business — including computers, printers, photocopy machines, photo equipment, stationery stock, and furniture.
This loss has placed us in a very difficult situation. However, I am determined not to give up. My goal is to rebuild my small business and become self-reliant again, rather than depend on long-term assistance.
I created this fundraiser under the Entrepreneurship category because rebuilding my small business is the only way forward for my family. Any support received will be used carefully to replace damaged equipment and help reopen the shop step by step.
I am sincerely grateful to everyone who takes the time to read my story. Your kindness and support would mean a great deal to me and my family during this challenging time.
Thank you for your compassion and understanding.
