A Humble Request for Help to Rebuild My Life and Livelihood

Dear Kind-Hearted Sir / Madam,

I am writing this message with a heavy heart but also with a small hope that there are still compassionate people in this world who are willing to help someone stand back on his feet again.

A few years ago, my life was stable and meaningful. Until 2018, I owned my own vehicle and worked in the tourist transport service in Sri Lanka. Driving visitors around our beautiful country was not only my job, but also my pride. Through that work, I was able to earn honestly, support my daily living expenses, and take care of my responsibilities. I believed that with hard work, life would slowly improve for me and my family.

But everything changed when the coronavirus pandemic hit and tourism completely stopped. Overnight, my income disappeared. Days turned into weeks, and weeks turned into months without any tourists or work. Even though I tried my best to manage the situation, I could not continue paying the leasing installments for my vehicle. The pressure from debts and expenses became too much for me to handle.

The most painful moment in my life was when I had to sell my own vehicle—the very thing that gave me my identity and my livelihood. I sold it for a much lower price just to survive and settle urgent financial burdens. After that, I was left with almost nothing. Since then, my life has been full of struggle, uncertainty, and stress. I currently do not have a stable income, and every day has become a challenge to meet even basic needs.

Despite all these hardships, I have not lost my faith in honest work. I do not wish to depend on others forever. I only need one more chance to rebuild my life with dignity. The only experience and skill I truly have is in tourist transportation, and I strongly believe that if I can return to this field, I can stand up again and take care of myself through hard work.

My dream now is to purchase a Toyota Hiace van, which is suitable and reliable for tourist transport services. The cost of the vehicle is approximately LKR 28 million. Through many sacrifices and difficulties, I have somehow managed to collect LKR 8 million on my own. However, I still need LKR 20 million, which is far beyond my current ability.

Therefore, I humbly and sincerely request your kind support. Any contribution, big or small, will bring me closer to restarting my livelihood. Your generosity will not only help me buy a vehicle—it will help restore my hope, my confidence, and my ability to live with self-respect again.
