My name is Manjula, and I am writing from Kandy.
A few years ago, my wife and I started a small dream — a simple business exporting handmade crafts created by women in our community. These were not just products. They were stories of mothers, widows, and hardworking women who used their skills to earn an honest living and support their families.
For nearly 300 women, this work meant food on the table, school supplies for their children, and hope for a better future.
But everything changed suddenly.
After sending our last two shipments to a buyer in the UK, we never received payment. The buyer disappeared, and all communication stopped. Overnight, our small business collapsed.
Yet the women who worked with us had already trusted us with their time, effort, and talent. We could not let them suffer for something that was not their fault.
So we made a painful decision.
We sold our personal belongings. We borrowed money. We sacrificed everything we had — just to make sure every single woman was paid in full.
Today, we are left with heavy debts and no capital to restart. But the hardest part is not our loss — it is seeing those same women now without opportunities again.
We are not asking for help just for ourselves.
We are asking for help to rebuild something that once gave dignity, income, and hope to hundreds of women.
Why Your Help Matters
With your support, we can:
Restart production for handmade crafts
Provide income again to 300 women who depend on this work
Build safer and more reliable international partnerships
Create a stronger, more secure future for this community
Our Promise
We will treat your support with honesty and responsibility. We will share updates, show progress, and ensure every contribution helps rebuild real lives.
From Our Hearts
Even a small contribution can bring back hope to a family that is struggling today.
If you cannot donate, sharing this story can also make a powerful difference.
Thank you for believing in us and in these women.
With gratitude,
Manjula
