Cyclone Ditwah Relief Fund – Sri Lanka
1. Who I am
My name is Dilruk Ruwan, a resident of Sri Lanka.
2. Where I am from
I live in a flood-affected area in Sri Lanka that was severely impacted by Cyclone Ditwah and the resulting floods.
3. Relationship to the people I am raising funds for
I am raising funds for myself and my immediate family, who were directly affected by the cyclone. Our home, belongings, and livelihood were damaged or destroyed by floodwaters.
4. How the funds will be spent (specific use of donations)
All funds raised through this campaign will be used only for cyclone relief and recovery, specifically for:
Purchasing basic food and clean drinking water
Replacing essential household items such as mattresses, pillows, clothing, and cooking utensils
Buying seeds, fertilizers, and basic farming tools to restart cultivation for the next season
Covering urgent daily living necessities until normal income is restored
Due to the floods, these items were destroyed beyond use, leaving us without the basic resources needed for daily life and livelihood recovery.
Although the government has begun relief efforts, assistance has not yet reached our family. As many families across the country are affected, we understand delays may occur.
I am committed to full transparency and accountability. Any donations received will be used exactly as stated above, and I accept responsibility for ensuring funds are spent solely for the purposes described in this campaign.
Thank you for taking the time to read our story and for any support you may be able to provide.
