Hello kind hearts,

My name is Chathura Udayanga, 27 years old, living in Springvally, Badulla, Sri Lanka. About two years ago, my family and I started building a small beauty salon called Adora Unisex Salon. It was our dream to open a family business that could bring stable income and a better future.

Unfortunately, our dream came to a halt when my father was diagnosed with cancer. We had to spend all our savings on his treatment, including chemotherapy at Maharagama Cancer Hospital. The treatments have now affected his kidneys, and his health has worsened. My mother and I are struggling every day to take care of him.

At present, only 30% of the salon construction is completed. I currently work as a minor employee at Global System Solutions, earning about LKR 30,000 per month, which is not enough for both living expenses and my father’s medical needs.

I have completed O/L and A/L exams, followed professional beauty therapy courses, and worked at another salon for 1.5 years to gain experience. My dream is to complete my own salon and become self-employed, so I can earn a steady income and continue to care for my parents.
