A Brief Introduction to Myself

To the kind attention of esteemed Donors,

I am Dharmasiri Bandara, a 49-year-old, very healthy individual residing in Sri Lanka. I am married and have a daughter (22 years old) pursuing higher education and a son (18 years old) also in education. My beloved wife is a homemaker who manages all our family affairs very well.

🌟 The Noble Mission of Giving Life 🌟

For over two decades, I have contributed to the gift of life by donating blood more than 25 times. In 2025, I embarked on another noble mission.

• Registration under the National Organ Transplant Program: On 2025.03.01, I registered as a Living Organ Donor (Registration No: M2025030186321740823928096) under the National Organ Transplant Program, which operates under the Ministry of Health of the Government of Sri Lanka.

• First Living Organ Donation: Just over five months later, on 2025.08.06, at the National Kidney Transplant Institute in Maligawatte, I successfully donated my left kidney to Mr. Sameera Alahakoon, a 42-year-old father of two residing in Kandy.

• Current Status: More than two and a half months have passed since the donation, and I remain very healthy. It brings me great joy that Mr. Sameera Alahakoon, who received my kidney, is also healthy and carrying out his daily activities.

🎯 My Next Goal: A Light for Another Life!

My ultimate goal is not to stop here. I intend to donate a part of my liver in about a year and a half, contributing to saving another valuable life. Your support is essential for me to achieve this noble task.

While my main livelihood is typically farming, following the kidney donation, I have been advised by doctors to refrain from strenuous physical labour.

• Loss of Income: Due to the disruption of my livelihood, funding the continuous higher education of my two children has become a significant problem, causing me considerable worry.

• New Livelihood: In addition to farming, I possess practical and theoretical knowledge of Architecture and basic drafting. Therefore, I hope to sustain my livelihood by pursuing architectural design work.

• Need for Initial Capital: To start this new venture, I require initial capital to acquire essential equipment, including a standard-level computer.
