From War to Survival: A Mother’s Story

Hello.

My name is Ylia, and I am a displaced woman from Ukraine. Because of the war, I lost my home, my stability, and the life I once knew. I had to leave everything behind to protect my child and search for safety.

I am divorced and raising my child completely on my own. Every day I try to stay strong, but the truth is — it is very hard. I work, I do my best, I don’t give up… yet my salary is not enough to cover even our basic needs. After paying rent and bills, there is almost nothing left for food, clothing, medicine, or my child’s school needs.

As a mother, the hardest part is feeling that you cannot give your child the security they deserve. I worry about the future constantly. I worry about tomorrow.

Right now, we truly need support. Any help — even the smallest amount — would mean more than words can express. Your kindness could help us stay afloat during this very difficult time and give my child a sense of stability and hope.

I am not asking for luxury. I am simply asking for a chance to survive, to stand on my feet again, and to give my child a safe and stable life.
