Our Story: A Legacy of Learning

In 1981, my father founded Pragathi Educational Institute with a vision to provide quality education to students in our community. In 2005, I joined the family business, and together we faced many challenges, including rebuilding and re-establishing the institute. From 2007 to 2019, we experienced significant growth, and our commitment to education only strengthened.

However, in recent years, we have faced unprecedented setbacks. The Easter attack in 2019 and the subsequent COVID-19 pandemic impacted our operations and disrupted our growth. Despite these challenges, we remained dedicated to our mission, and in mid-2022, we decided to lease the business to meet the increasing demands of students and teachers. We signed a 5-year contract with a lessee, hoping for stability and continued success.

Our Current Challenges

Unfortunately, our lessee has informed us that he can no longer cover the costs and wishes to back out of the agreement, putting us in a difficult financial situation. To take back control of the institute and continue providing quality education, we urgently need to raise funds to:

1. Repay the lessee's key money: CHF 2,800

2. Compensate for the lessee's initial investment in sealed partitions, ceiling construction, and lighting: CHF 6,000

3. Reinstall six air-conditioned machines: CHF 5,500

4. Establish a new sound system: CHF 400

5. Reinstall a multimedia projector and screen: CHF 800

6. Cover operational expenses during the transition period: CHF 1,500

7. Create a buffer for unexpected expenses: CHF 2,000

Total Goal: CHF 19,000

We are proud of our track record in preparing hundreds of students annually for the grade 5 scholarship exam and supporting them in reaching their educational aspirations in ordinary and advanced-level examinations. Many of our students have ranked within the top ten in the district.

As we rebuild and strengthen our institute, we plan to expand our offerings to include vocational courses, guiding students towards alternative career paths and providing them with the skills they need to thrive. Our goal is to continue being a beacon of hope and opportunity for students in our community.
