Dear friends, near and far,
My name is Sergej, a member of Prague's sangha. After five years of study and practice with Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche, I find myself at a meaningful threshold. In 2025, I met Rinpoche in person for the first time in Switzerland and received a transmission that profoundly shifted my path. It clarified things I'd been uncertain about and gave new meaning to my journey. That experience made one thing clear: I need to be with my teacher as often as possible.
This spring, I'm planning my first pilgrimage to Nepal—a journey I never imagined I'd make, and one that feels both daunting and essential.
Since 2019, my practice has grown alongside my responsibilities. I'm a father to two daughters, ages 12 and 16. Since 2022, I've served Prague's sangha by managing finances at our meditation center and helping organize public courses and outreach. These roles have taught me about service, but they've also shown me how much I still have to learn.
Recently, I've made significant changes in my professional life—changes that align more closely with my values but have created financial constraints. The cost of this pilgrimage, including airfare, accommodations, and retreat fees, is beyond what I can manage alone right now.
If you feel moved to support this journey—financially or through good wishes—I would be deeply grateful. This isn't just a trip for me; it's an opportunity to deepen my practice so I can better serve my family, our sangha, and all those I encounter.
Thank you for reading, and for your kindness.
